Job Summary:
The Production Associate supports all aspects of production, in accordance with the Company’s established Quality System. Duties include manufacturing of food ingredients, maintaining efficient operational flow of raw materials and finished product in the warehouse, shipping & receiving, and performing facility maintenance and cleaning per the established periodic schedule.
Job Functions:
Food Ingredient Production
The Production Associate supports all aspects of production, in accordance with the Company’s established Quality System. Duties include manufacturing of food ingredients, maintaining efficient operational flow of raw materials and finished product in the warehouse, shipping & receiving, and performing facility maintenance and cleaning per the established periodic schedule.
Job Functions:
Food Ingredient Production
- Coordinate with Operations Supervisor regarding daily production goals
- Follow detailed instructions (formula sheets) to compound and manufacture food ingredients
- Dispense finished food ingredients into multiple packaging systems
- Affix finished product labels to final packaging
- Complete records which document daily activities
Warehouse Management
- Receive, label as required, and place incoming materials into designated storage locations
- Coordinate with transport drivers to safely load shipments to customers
- Prepare outgoing customer orders for shipment using packing lists and shipping websites for scheduling pickups and bills of lading
- Store produced materials in designated locations
- Ensure accurate completion of records which document shipping & receiving activities
Facility Maintenance
- Clean assets used during daily production
- Monitor production and maintenance equipment to minimize risk to products and personnel
- Perform regular facility maintenance and cleaning per established periodic schedule
- Complete records which document facility maintenance and cleaning activities
General
- Support continuous improvements to enhance processes, increase efficiency, and reduce waste
- Perform other related duties assigned by management
Job Qualifications:
Education
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
Experience
- Food manufacturing industry or regulated manufacturing environment (preferred)
- Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) (preferred)
- Shipping & receiving (preferred)
Skills
- Desire for professional growth into roles of increasing responsibility
- Manage time effectively, prioritize work tasks, and meet deadlines
- Follow detailed instructions, thoroughly document work, and read and understand charts
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
- Proactively and clearly communicate challenges, observations, and conflicts
Certifications
- Current training in Department of Transportation (DOT) Hazardous Material shipping regulations (preferred)
Physical Requirements
- Handle products which may contain allergens (milk, peanuts, tree nuts, sesame, and soy), alcohol, and sulfites
- Use generally recognized as safe (GRAS) food chemicals and cleaning chemicals
- Possess general vision, hearing, speech, and color perception abilities
- Lift up to 50 pounds frequently Carry up to 30 pounds occasionally
- Climb ladders and mobile staircases sporadically throughout workday
- Stand and walk for majority of workday Sit sporadically throughout workday
- Reach, handle, and feel objects, tools, or controls frequently
- Bend, squat, kneel, crouch, and balance frequently
Shift and schedule:
- 8-hour Day Shift
- Monday to Friday
